After being elected to the State House of Representatives in 1989, he opened and maintained a general practice of law focusing on residential and commercial real estate, landlord / tenant matters, collections and small business. He is now the managing partner of the firm and has overseen its growth into a firm with multiple areas of focus to better provide for all of our individual and business clients.
He is one of the few real estate attorneys in the State to be able to close residential loans for the vast majority of banks and Credit Unions. In addition to his individual clients, he also works with commercial developers on both housing and commercial projects.

John L. Cipriano Jr.Founding Member
John L. Cipriano, Jr., is a founding member of the firm and has been a lawyer for over 40 years. His areas of practice include Collections, Real Estate, Estate Planning and Probate, and Business Law.
His collection practice includes statewide representation of leading companies in the healthcare, banking, and credit union industries. He has lectured to the regional creditor and hospital audiences regarding collection practices and laws and has prepared and presented material through Lorman Education Services, a national continuing education provider. John is also a co-author of the book “Connecticut Closing Practice (a Lawyers Guide to Residential Real Estate Closings With Forms)” published by The Atlantic Law Book Company. In addition, he has served as a Police Commissioner for the Town of Hamden, Secretary to the Hamden Charter Revision Commission, and as a co-director of the Legacy and Planned Giving Committee for the Connecticut South Central Region of the American Cancer Society.
Born in New Haven, Connecticut, admitted to the Connecticut Bar in 1974, He received his B.S. degree from the University of School of Business in 1970 and hi Juris Doctor from the University of Louisville in 1974. He is licensed to practice before all courts in the State of Connecticut, the federal U.S. District Court, and the United States Supreme Court.

Ian G. Gottlieb has been a partner in the Law Firm since 2015 and focuses his practice on Landlord / Tenant matters and Residential and Commercial Leases & Transactions, representing clients in real estate purchase, sale and refinance transactions. Attorney Gottlieb maintains an active litigation practice covering general practice areas with regard to all of his clients’ needs. He provides business advice to his clients for all aspects of transactions and litigation when necessary to protect their best interests and ensure they are in proper compliance with State and Federal laws. Prior to joining the Firm, Attorney Gottlieb provided representation to several major insurance companies.

Keith A. HathawayPartner
Keith A. Hathaway has been practicing law since 2003. He started his career working for some of the larger law firms in Connecticut focusing his practice on commercial and residential real estate transactions. He founded Hathaway Law Offices in 2006 where he continued to focus on real estate law while developing additional expertise in the areas of personal injury and family law. After nearly 10 years as a solo practitioner, Keith joined the firm as a partner in April of 2016. He currently leads the real estate arm of the firm with a focus on making the transactions for each and every client as stress free as possible.
Nicole J. Barillaro, prior to entering law school, began her career in New York working in the Private Wealth Management industry. During this time, she researched and advised on tax-efficient investment structures, SEC compliance and legal issues relative to marketing of investment products. While attending law school at night, Attorney Barillaro served as Compliance Manager and Legal Analyst in the New York office of a shari’ah compliant investment fund headquartered in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Since 2016, after passing the Connecticut and New York bar, she has focused her practice on Estate Planning and Probate.

Prior to entering private practice, he worked as the Contract Administrator for a cloud-based communications software provider based out of Chicago, IL before serving as a Clerk for the Meriden Superior Court. Attorney Wagemaker represents parties in real estate transactions for purchases, sales, and refinances. He provides representation to small businesses and is involved in an active litigation practice focused on landlord-tenant matters and other general practice areas.' Attorney Wagemaker is a member of the Young Lawyers Association, the Municipal Law Committee, and the Medical Marijuana Committee of the CBA and also serves as a Coach for the Yale Youth Hockey Association.
He received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Connecticut in 2012 and later earned his J.D. from Western New England University School of Law in 2015, where he served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Western New England Law Review. While In law school, he worked as a Teaching/Research Assistant, served as a Student Attorney for the Western New England School of Law Small Business Clinic and as a law clerk for the University of Massachusetts – Amherst.

Joins the Firm in the area of Real Estate, Corporate/Commercial Law and Land Use and bring 20 years of experience to GCGH. David practice included representation of a wide range of clients including large institutional lenders, major developers of mixed use and multifamily properties, large and small commercial landlords and tenants, utility companies, individual homeowners, some of the most prestigious Realtors in Connecticut and various other entities engaging in both simple and complex real estate and construction transactions. David is also adept at handling both the transactional and the litigation side of cases.
David has written and lectured on legal topics relating primarily to residential and commercial real estate matters, land use and title issues as well as foreclosure and finance. He is a member of the American Bar Association the Connecticut Bar Association and the Connecticut Mortgage Association.
